In the US, where the most research has been done on the subject, studies suggest that a pool can increase the price of a property by up to 7%, though the figure changes depending on location.
In New Zealand, research in 2022 found that the average price for a home with a pool was $1.2m, while the average price of a home without a pool was $887k. But this difference was largely explained by the fact that properties with pools tend to be bigger – an average of 246m², in fact.
