The Lowest Running Costs, Independently Tested and Proven

The cost of running a spa pool can be significant… unless you choose Hot Spring. We offer New Zealand’s most energy efficient spa pools, with running costs as little as $1 a day. This is a luxurious soak that won’t cost the earth.

How can such luxury come so cheap? Our insulation is carefully designed for maximum heat retention. Our covers are fully insulated and precisely engineered to form a perfect seal around the lip of your spa.

Then there’s our suite of technological innovations, from heat induction jets that recycle the warmth generated by the internal machinery, to our SilentFlo 5000 circulation system that keeps your water moving while using the same amount of power as a 40-watt light bulb.

What should I look for when buying a large spa pool?

If you want space for the whole family, friends and guests, a large spa pool delivers generous seating and true full-body comfort. But not all spas are built the same. When comparing models, look for a trusted brand with proven performance, strong after-sales support, and a reputation for durable, energy-efficient design. Other factors to consider include:

Large spa pool dimensions

At the generous end of the size scale, Hot Spring 7 person spa pools are designed for those who want maximum space for family, friends and entertaining, without sacrificing daily comfort or efficiency. They’re ideal if you love to host, stretch out, and still enjoy everyday soaks.

While each model is slightly different, most seven-seaters sit between 2.1–2.8m in length, 2.1–2.3m in width, and around 87–97cm in height. Smaller dimensions usually signal a mid-sized family spa, whereas larger footprints suggest an extra-large entertainer or a step towards a swim spa format.

Benefits of a large spa pool vs smaller spas

While a large spa pool will be the obvious choice for many, others will wonder whether the added investment is worth it. Is a medium or small model a better option? The answer will depend on your situation, but going bigger does offer some real advantages:

— The more the merrier! Larger spa pools allow you to enjoy quality family time and have fun with friends in comfort.

— More space means that large spas allow you to completely unfurl yourself during solo soaks and hydrotherapy.

Best large spa pool placement

Where will you place your large spa pool? As fully portable and self-contained machines, Hot Spring spas can be placed almost anywhere with enough room and an even, stable surface.

Outdoor spa pools can be placed on pavers, concrete, decking or even a sturdy balcony. Indoor spa pools can be installed in a well ventilated sunroom or enclosed outdoor area. The most organic and accessible option is to install your Hot Spring spa pool as an inground unit, though this will require extra excavation and landscaping work.

It’s important to be strategic with your placement. You’ll need access to water and electricity, and the ability to drain your spa. A more protected area will also allow your spa to retain more heat and use less power.

Are large spa pools good for your health?

A large spa pool isn’t simply the ultimate backyard luxury – it’s also an investment in your health and wellness. A regular soak in a spa pool can help in the following ways:

Frequently asked questions

You can place a large spa pool on any level surface that’s strong enough to hold the weight of the spa when it’s full of water and people. Pavers and concrete slabs are the most common, but decks and balconies may offer the necessary strength too – you just need to check by asking an expert like a structural engineer.

It is not recommended that you place a spa pool directly onto dirt or lawn, as the machine may eventually have issues with sinking, tilting or moisture infiltration.

The weight of a spa pool can refer to two different numbers: 'dry weight’ (the weight of the empty spa) and ‘filled weight’ (the weight of the spa filled with water and people). The dry weight of Hot Spring’s 6+ seater spas can be as low as 270kg, while filled weights can be as high as 3085kg.

The dry weight is an important number to know for delivery and installation, as it tells you the lifting and material handling equipment you’ll need to move the spa into place. The filled weight is an important consideration for spa pool placement, particularly if you want to install your unit on a deck or balcony.

The size of your ideal spa will depend on a few key factors: the space you have in your preferred spot, the number of people that may want to soak at any one time, and your budget (generally speaking, the larger the spa pool, the greater the upfront investment).

Large spas tend to offer more comfort and functionality, so are a great choice if you have the necessary space and the budget. And when you buy from Hot Spring, you can feel safe in the knowledge that you’ve invested in a spa that’s built to last, and has the lowest running costs in NZ.

After looking at the other 2 brands I was interested in, the highlight grandee stood far above the rest. Not only a superior spa but the knowledge care and overall customer experience provided by everyone we spoke to at hot Springs spas was second to none.

We have a flash spa for the last 2 years and it’s been amazing! The kids love our spa and so do we. It’s a salt water spa and so much easier that constantly putting chlorine in! Couldn’t be happier with the product! Would recommend these spas!

— Amanda Nankivell

We've had our Flash spa tub for 12 months and absolutely love it! It isn't just great for our aching muscles at the end of the day, but it is a great time for our family to spend time together and chat. Highly recommend!
