Unlike other systems that require major structural changes, Fastlane is designed for straightforward installation. To suit different pool layouts, Fastlane offers two flexible mounting options. The Deck Mount installation attaches directly to the pool deck using a hanger bracket, while the Wall Mount installation connects directly to the pool wall and uses PVC conduits to run the hoses discreetly beneath the deck.

How does Fastlane Swim work?

The Fastlane Swim is a split system machine. The propeller-powered propulsion system either hangs over the side of an existing pool (Deck-Mount) or is installed on the wall of a new pool (Wall-Mount).

This is connected to a remote unit that uses hydraulic technology to provide the power for the current, which can be set to dozens of different speeds depending on the needs and preferences of the user, from a gentle doggy paddle to almost Olympic freestyle.

Jets vs propellers to generate a pool current?

There are two main ways to create a current in a pool, and they’re the same propulsion options as a plane: a propeller or a jet.

The Fastlane Swim is similar to another one of our products: the Endless Pools swim spa. But unlike the Endless Pools range, which use jets, the Fastlane Swim system uses a custom-designed propeller to move water. The current is then fed through a channelling system to make it perfectly smooth.

Both systems offer a powerful, smooth, customisable current. The main difference is the settings in which they’re offered. If you have or are building a pool, choose the propeller-powered Fastlane Swim. If you’re considering a swim spa, choose a jet-powered Endless Pools swim spa.

Are swim jets worth it?

Do you enjoy swimming or cross-training? Could you benefit from aqua fitness or hydrotherapy? Do you want to spend more quality, device-free time with your loved ones? Would you like to use your pool more than you currently do?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, a Fastlane swim jet system can represent an incredible investment. It’s an addition that can transform your pool into a fitness and entertainment machine: the hub of your home, and a serious lifestyle enhancement.

Can the Fastlane Swim be installed in any pool?

Yes, almost any pool can be turned into a Fastlane swimming machine. You can use these swim jets for existing pools or for pools that you’re currently building. In-ground, above-ground, concrete, fibreglass or vinyl-lined; a Fastlane swim jet can be added to whatever type of pool you own.

The main limiting factor is pool size: if your pool isn’t long, wide or deep enough to swim in, it may not be suitable for a swim jet pump. You need enough room to comfortably swim – we recommend at least two metres of width and three metres of length – and the Fastlane swim unit needs at least 99cm of water depth in order to function. For this reason you won’t see paddle pools or plunge pools with swim jets.

But generally speaking, if the pool is deep, wide and long enough for swimming, it's deep enough to be turned into a Fastlane pool.

What's the difference between Fastlane Swim vs. Badu Swim Jet

While they are designed to do much the same thing, there are a few of the key differences between the two products. For the Badu Jet Stream 2, the machine creates a current through jets. The Fastlane Swim takes a different approach. It uses a 400mm propeller, which sends water through a conditioning grill that creates a smoother, less turbulent current.

The difference between these systems is immediately apparent when you take a swim. With water coming out of jets that are a few centimetres in diameter, the Badu Jet Stream 2 creates a narrow and rather turbulent stream of water, at least when compared to the Fastlane Swim, where the current is deep, wide and consistent, thanks to the combination of large propeller diameter and conditioning grill.
