Do Infrared (IR) models suffer from hot or cold spots?

Many standard infrared cabins suffer from uneven heat distribution, which causes discomfort, constant fidgeting, and shorter sessions. The Kiruna IR and Kiruna Hybrid (in IR mode) solves this problem entirely using our advanced CarbonFlex® low-EMR/EF panels. These large-surface panels wrap the cabin in a seamless, 360-degree blanket of radiant heat. By eliminating cold spots, we ensure a deeply relaxing experience where every seat is truly the "best seat" in the house.

Is it possible to have both traditional steam and infrared heat in one unit?

Yes. Choosing between the deep, dry heat of infrared and the intense humidity of traditional steam can be difficult. The Kiruna Hybrid eliminates the compromise by combining both systems within a single, elegant footprint. Equipped with CarbonFlex® IR panels and a premium Tylö Sense heater, this hybrid model gives you the ultimate flexibility to choose your ideal wellness experience based entirely on your mood.

How long does a sauna installation typically take?

Installation times for Tylo saunas vary by model. Infrared units can be installed relatively quickly, sometimes in as little as 40 minutes. Generally, all indoor Kiruna units, whether Infrared or Hybrid, typically take up to two hours for installation.

What electrical installations are needed for a sauna?

The electrical installations required for Kiruna sauna models vary based on the specific unit. The KIRUNA™ 1 and KIRUNA™ 2 infrared models both need 120v / 15 Amp electrical service. The larger KIRUNA™ 3 infrared sauna requires 120v / 20 Amp. Many TYLO infrared models are designed with 15–20 Amp options to provide home-friendly electrical pathways and often function as 110-volt plug-ins.
